The housing crisis — what crisis? To solve it, we must first understand it better. That’s the mission of IDHEAL, the new Institut des Hautes Études pour l’Action dans le Logement (Institute for Advanced Studies in Housing Action), created by Action Logement at the initiative of Catherine Sabbah. Are reflection and research on housing — this place where we find shelter, care for ourselves and others, grow, and build our lives — as developed as they are in education, health, family, or work? Housing is a political issue. But what becomes of this democratic ideal if it is no longer accessible, if its very production destroys resources? Housing raises urgent questions — for each of us and for society as a whole — that must be addressed if we are to live better together in the future. The Institut des Hautes Études pour l’Action dans le Logement was born from the realization that the housing sector lacks a space for reflection and exchange between public and private actors, social housing and real estate development, the construction industry, NGOs, long-standing housing stakeholders, and new players from fields such as mobility, energy, and big data — newcomers who might one day disrupt the system.

AHA (Annabelle Hagmann, Ourania Vivien) strengthened IDHEAL’s positioning and designed its new website together with ZOO, designer, and Donald David for web development. New IDHEAL website.”
