On the initiative of the Maisons de l'architecture, ten teams of architects have been exploring France every year since 2018 as part of residencies, a model imported from related fields such as the visual arts and performing arts, which is constantly being reinvented. Through open-air experiments, these teams disrupt, reveal, and activate places and reawaken the links between “local actors” and residents. It is the conviction that dynamics can be reversed, that architects can be “ injected” into territories rather than “ simply” designing housing, and that these action-research projects are effective ways of addressing current issues: identity, sociability, play, the common good, collective fiction.
AHA is hosting the morning presentation of the work from these 10 residencies as part of PARI, the biennial event of the Réseau des maisons de l'architecture (Network of Architecture Houses).
