AD-REC brought together researchers and teachers from art and design schools in May 2025 during the Saint-Étienne International Design Biennial.
AHA had previously submitted a proposal, soberly titled “Deconstructing Architecture.”
The organizers’ intention—to capture the tension crystallizing around “the imprint of things”—led us to take it a step further and explore “the imprint of the framework of things.” In other words, what makes them possible—or, more precisely, their “frame squared”: the school on one hand, and architecture on the other, through the architecture school. As part of AD-REC, AHA led a workshop on the power to make and shape art, design, and architecture schools.
