Transform according to l'AUC

Press conference
Tuesday May 30 at 5:30 p.m. at l'AUC, 47 rue de la Chapelle, Paris 18
The Patrick Abercrombie Prize for Architecture and Urban Planning 2023 from the International Union for Architects* (IUA) has just been awarded to Djamel Klouche, Caroline Poulin, François Decoster (1966) and Alessandro Gess (1983), associates of the architectural and urban planning firm l’AUC.

The jury for the 2023 IUA Patrick Abercrombie Prize for Architecture and Urbanism singled out l'AUC for its work on the reconstruction of existing buildings. “They transform old factories into ecological quarters, think about new types of community interactions and ways of being together. Their project BASE AÉRIENNE 217 in Brétigny-sur-Orge reinvents ruined landscapes and includes regional city development, new thinking in city planning and complex possibilities for urban design in the 21st century” was rewarded by the jury. A vision of the city already recognized by the Grand Prix de l'Urbanisme in 2021.

On this occasion, l'AUC is organizing a press conference to present the BASE AÉRIENNE 217 project through fragments of the exhibition dedicated to the project at EPFL, and the double publication “HOW TO NOT DEMOLISH A BUILDING / HOW TO PRODUCE CHANGE – an exquisite corpse for a new process of transformation", which has just been published by Ruby Press around the transformation of the office towers of the WTC in Brussels by l'AUC with 51N4E and Jaspers-Eyers for Befimmo.

This press conference will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at l'AUC, in the presence of the AUC associates. It will be followed by drinks on the office's terrace, with a view of Chapelle International in the completion phase, and of La Tour des Poissonniers a few days before the building permit for its transformation project is filed.
