To solve the housing crises, we need to understand it better. This is the mission set by IDHEAL, the new Institut des Hautes Etudes pour l’Action dans le logement created by Action Logement on the initiative of Catherine Sabbah.

Housing is a political object. But what becomes this democratic ideal if it is no longer accessible to all, if its production overconsumes resources? Housing raises urgent questions to be resolved in order to live together tomorrow. The Institut des Hautes Etudes pour l’Action dans le logement was born from the observation that this field lacks a place for reflection and discussions between the public and private sectors, social housing and real estate development, construction, NGOs, “old” housing institutions but also newcomers from the mobility, energy and big data sectors, who might shake everything up one day or another.
